About Access Gauteng 2050

Access Gauteng is about reimagining South Africa’s economic powerhouse, Gauteng, with transportation playing a major role in connecting ideas, people, and communities, and unlocking exponential opportunities. Access Gauteng is part of a more holistic vision from the Integrated Transport Master Plan (ITMP) that emphasises that by the year 2050, Gauteng would have achieved its transport ambitions. The ITMP is a unique plan for how we move people and goods from place to place – safely and sustainably – while creating new opportunities for a better quality of life.
